Our treatment team includes Therapists, Psychology Associates, Treatment Associates and Therapy Supervisors. We are responsible for facilitating the core therapy groups and topic-focused modules, writing End of Quarter Progress Reports and Recovery Plans, Individual Behavior Plans, and conducting individual counseling as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Mental Health Counselors provide a full array of treatment services including but not limited to individual therapy, group therapy, assessment of residents, treatment planning, discharge planning, case management. Counselors are members of interdisciplinary teams and provide crisis intervention services when needed.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TREATMENT ASSOCIATE<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Treatment Associates are bachelor level clinicians who provide a range of psychoeducational, therapeutic, casework management services, and programming for residents to enhance resident treatment and promote the residents\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 pro-social behaviors. As a member of interdisciplinary teams, treatment associates develop goals and implement treatment plans and coordinate resources for residents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR SUPERVISOR<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Counselor Supervisors are licensed professionals who supervise and monitor the treatment provided by clinical staff and treatment teams. Supervisors assess ad monitor the quality of programs provided to residents. In addition, counselor supervisors provide clinical supervision to counselors seeking LPC, LMFT, LCSW, and CSOTP credentials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

DISCHARGE COORDINATOR<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Discharge Coordinators work in conjunction with DOC Probation & Parole and other agencies across the Commonwealth to prepare residents for a successful discharge from VCBR. The Social Work department assists residents with searching for jobs, job interviews, learning to ride buses, visiting and learning the area the will be residing in, and obtaining necessary services from DMV, DSS, Vital Statistics, Social Security, and Community Service Boards. They are instrumental in the home planning process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LIFE SKILLS COUNSELOR<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Life Skills Counselors provide a range of psychoeducational, therapeutic, casework management services, and programming for residents in a therapeutic setting to enhance resident treatment and promote pro-social behaviors. These counselors assist residents with developing life skills to assist them in preparing for re-entry into the community; this includes gaining\/improving daily-living skills along with access to community resources and the skills to make use of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
