Departmental Objective
The Community Services Department assists people in their recovery by building and maintaining relationships with internal and community partners in the mental health continuum of care. The Community Services Director acts as a consultant on the discharge process, working to identify barriers to discharge and developing solutions to those barriers
The Community Services Director at Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute actively participates in the following regional activities:
- Member of NRV Psychiatric Workgroup
- Liaison at Community Service Board meetings and trainings
- Member of the District Three Governmental Cooperative Public Guardianship Program Guardianship Multi-Disciplinary Panel
