With the high increase in community transmission of COVID-19 and a positivity rate of 10.1% in Virginia, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) has suspended patient visitation at all of its facilities including Piedmont Geriatric Hospital (PGH) effective September 3, 2021.

We know this is difficult for our patients and for their loved ones. We are still offering visiting via videoconferencing. Please reach out to the patient’s Social Worker for assistance in scheduling a Zoom visit.

PGH remains committed to taking steps to ensure the health and safety of our patients and staff and this policy is vital to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. We will advise you of any further developments in visitation.
