Dr. Clemente S. Estrera, Jr., M.D. – Medical Director
Dr. Clemente S. Estrera was born and raised in the Camotes Island of Cebu, Philippines. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in science, pre-medicine at the University of San Carlos. He graduated, majoring in medicine at the Cebu Institute of Medicine in Cebu City, Philippines in 1972. He did his residency training in General Surgery at the Roanoke Community Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia from 1975 to 1977. He joined the Medical Staff at Hiram W. Davis Medical Center in July of 1977. During that time, HWDMC had 3 Operating Rooms where they performed many types of surgeries. Dr. Estrera was part of the surgical team for many years performing surgeries like prostatectomies, hip replacements, exploratory laparotomy, urological procedures, and a wide variety of other types of surgeries. Dr. Estrera also worked as part-time Emergency Room Physician from 1978 to 1984 at the U.S. Kenner’s Community Hospital in Fort Lee, Virginia and at John Randolph Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia from 1984 to 1985. He was appointed the Assistant Chief of Staff at Hiram W. Davis Medical Center in 1984. He became the acting Chief of Staff at HWDMC in 1987. Due to his extensive experience, knowledge, understanding, and his focusing on patient care, in May of 2013, Dr. Estrera became the Medical Director at Hiram W. Davis Medical Center. Dr. Estrera has the proven ability to work with unique individuals to diagnose and treat a wide variety of medical conditions. Dr. Estrera’s main hobbies are gardening, fishing, and occasionally writing.
Dr. Tu-Van Tran, M.D. – Staff Physician
Dr. Tu-Van Tran has held a variety of positions in the medical field that has provided her the experience and expertise needed to join the physician team at Hiram W. Davis Medical Center. Dr. Tran became the staff physician at HWDMC in October of 2013. Prior to coming to HWDMC, Dr. Tran was the associate Director of Trinity Mission Nursing Home, an urgent care physician at Patient First, and a hospitalist at Sentra Health Southside Hospital. Dr. Tran also worked at Keysville Family Practice Clinic as a family physician. Dr. Tran is patient-focused, caring, and she spends countless hours working to build long-term individual treatment plans that ensure our residents are provided with the best possible care.
