Office of Health Equity Advancement
The Office of Health Equity Advancement leads efforts to provide improved services to multicultural consumers and works toward eliminating the disparities within the state’s mental health, intellectual disability and substance-use disorder system.
Programs and Activities in the OHEA focus on the following themes:
- Improving equity in access to, quality of, and outcomes of behavioral health care and developmental disability services among populations where disparities exist;
- Supporting the integration of behavioral health care into other platforms of care to increase access, enhance outcomes, and reduce disparities in the Commonwealth;
- Leveraging partnerships and resources that build capacity across systems to promote a collective impact to reduce disparities;
- Identifying and utilizing existing data resources to better understand the current environment to inform the development of novel strategies for quantifying and reducing mental health disparities.
