Person Centered Thinking – Person Centered Practices – Virginia Commonwealth University (vcu.edu)
Person Centered Thinking (PCT) training serves as a foundation for all who are involved in supporting people with disabilities in Virginia. The training content and format were developed by The Learning Community for Person Centered Practices. All trainers who deliver PCT, have been credentialed by The Learning Community. At the training, participants acquire core skills to assure that people receive person centered supports and get better lives as a result. Participants commit to attend 2 full days of this skill-based, interactive training. The registration fee is used to offset the costs of trainers’ time and materials.

All Support Partners who are responsible for assisting people to develop ISPs. **Prerequisite: Person Centered Thinking training (2 day)** Learn skills necessary to facilitate person centered information gathering and use the information gathered to develop outcomes. The training is co-presented by a person with a disability and is designed to be interactive with the audience to build skills that strengthen person-centered practices.

The Social Security Administration (SSA) is pleased to present this Representative Payee Interdisciplinary Training series. It includes useful modules to educate individuals and organizations about the roles and responsibilities of serving as a representative payee, elder abuse and financial exploitation, effective ways to monitor and safely conduct business with the banking community, and ways to recognize the changes in decisional capacity among vulnerable adults and seniors.

REACH provides and extensive list of services, support and training to include the following: Training and education to the larger community (e.g. CSBs, families, providers, law enforcement, hospitals) both on REACH services and on topics, which are pertinent to the population that REACH serves. 24/7 crisis assessment and intervention designed to address and resolve crisis situations for individuals with DD who are experiencing a crisis event of a behavioral and/or psychiatric nature. Post-crisis mobile/community-based direct services designed to assess needs and subsequently create individualized supportive interventions to prevent and/or de-escalate future crisis situations.
